1. A method to detect parameters inside of a lumen comprising:

  • inserting an inflatable body into said lumen, said inflatable body having a stretchable surface and a stretchable electronic circuit affixed thereto, said stretchable surface having soft or elastic properties enabling the stretchable surface to be made longer or wider without tearing or breaking, said stretchable electronic circuit being embedded in or affixed to the stretchable surface, the stretchable electronic circuit comprising;

    a plurality of discrete operative devices arranged as device islands on the stretchable surface, the plurality of discrete operative devices including at least one discrete operative device and at least one other discrete operative device; and

    a plurality of stretchable interconnects embedded in or affixed to the stretchable surface to electrically interconnect at least some of the plurality of discrete operative devices, wherein at least one stretchable interconnect of the plurality of stretchable interconnects is directly attached to the at least one discrete operative device and to the at least one other discrete operative device to directly electrically interconnect the at least one discrete operative device to the at least one other discrete operative device;

    inflating the inserted inflatable body to contact the at least one discrete operative device, the at least one other discrete operative device, or a combination thereof to said lumen; and

    measuring a parameter of said lumen in response to the contact.
