Abstract

The present invention relates to bis-amide derivatives as defined by the compound of formula (I), to processes and intermediates for preparing them, to methods of using them to control insect, acarine, nematode and mollusc pests, and to insecticidal, acaricidal, nematicidal and molluscicidal compositions comprising them.

Claims

1. A compound of formula (I)

2. A compound of formula (I) according to claim 1 wherein Q is a group selected from Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4 and Q5, where

Q1 is a group of formula (IIa)

3. A compound of formula (I) according to claim 1 wherein R is hydrogen, methyl or ethyl.

4. A compound of formula (I) according to claim 1 wherein X₁ is methoxy and X₂ is hydrogen.

5. A compound of formula (I) according to claim 4 wherein X₂ is cyano and X₁ is hydrogen.

7. A method of controlling insects, acarines, nematodes or molluscs which comprises applying to a pest, to a locus of a pest, or to a plant susceptible to attack by a pest an insecticidally, acaricidally, nematicidally or molluscicidally effective amount of a compound of formula (I) as defined in claim 1.

8. An insecticidal, acaricidal, nematicidal or molluscicidal composition comprising an insecticidally, acaricidally, nematicidally or molluscicidally effective amount of a compound of formula (I) as defined in claim 1 together with an agrochemically acceptable diluent or carrier.

9. A composition according to claim 8 which further comprises one or more additional insecticidal, acaricidal, nematicidal or molluscicidal compounds.

10. A method of protecting useful plants from insects, acarines, nematodes or molluscs, comprising applying to said plants, to the locus thereof, or to plant propagation material thereof, an insecticidally, acaricidally, nematicidally or molluscicidally effective amount of a compound of formula I in claim 1.
