Abstract

In some examples, an account is provisioned onto an electronic device. In some examples, the device receives a value to fund the account provisioned on the electronic device. In some examples, the electronic device transacts with a contactless transaction terminal using the provisioned account and displays an indication of the transaction. In some examples, the electronic device transmits information corresponding to the provisioned account without checking for authentication. In some examples, the device receives user input initiating a process for moving the account from a first device to a second device. In some examples, the device receives account payment credentials from a second device when a set of payment criteria are met.

Claims

1. A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing one or more programs configured to be executed by one or more processors of an electronic device with one or more short-range communication radios and an account information application that includes a first account, the one or more programs including instructions for:

detecting, by the one or more short-range communication radios, a wireless signal from a transaction terminal;

in accordance with a determination, based on contents of the wireless signal from the transaction terminal, that the wireless signal corresponds to a first type of request, wherein the determination that the wireless signal corresponds to the first type of request includes a determination that a set of one or more contextual conditions has been met, wherein a first contextual condition of the one or more contextual conditions is met when content of the wireless signal includes a predetermined value;

transmitting, to the transaction terminal, information corresponding to the first account without checking for authentication; and

in accordance with a determination, based on contents of the wireless signal from the transaction terminal, that the wireless signal corresponds to a second type of request, checking for authentication before proceeding with a transaction corresponding to the wireless signal, wherein checking for authentication includes;

presenting an indication requesting authentication;

receiving authentication information; and

in accordance with a determination that the authentication information is consistent with enrolled authentication information that is enabled to authorize transactions, proceeding with the transaction.

2. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 1, wherein:

the first type of request is a type of request for which transmission of account information has been pre-authorized to be made automatically available without authentication; and

the second type of request is a type of request for which transmission of account information has not been pre-authorized to be made automatically available without authentication.

3. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 1, wherein the first account is a stored-value account.

4. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 1, wherein transmitting information corresponding to the first account without checking for authentication includes transmitting the information corresponding to the first account without requiring user input subsequent to detecting, by the one or more short-range communication radios, the wireless signal.

5. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 1, wherein the account information application includes a second account that is different from the first account.

6. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 1, wherein proceeding with the transaction includes:

transmitting information corresponding to the first account.

7. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 1, wherein proceeding with the transaction includes:

transmitting information corresponding to a second account different from the first account.

8. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 1, the one or more programs further including instructions for:

in accordance with the determination that the wireless signal corresponds to the first type of request;

forgoing presenting any indication requesting authentication.

9. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 1, wherein the first account is one of a plurality of transit accounts stored by the account information application and the account information application stores one or more additional accounts that are not transit accounts, the one or more programs further including instructions for:

prior to detecting, by the one or more short-range communication radios, the wireless signal;

receiving user input selecting the first account as an account to be made available for use without checking authentication; and

in response to receiving user input selecting the first account as an account to be made available for use without checking authentication, designating the first account to be made available for use without checking authentication.

10. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 1, wherein the first account is an identification account.

11. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 1, wherein the electronic device is in a locked state prior to detecting the wireless signal and continues to remain in the locked state while transmitting information corresponding to the first account without checking for authentication.

12. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 1, wherein the information corresponding to the first account includes an account number of the first account.

13. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 1, wherein the first account is a stored-value account and the information corresponding to the first account includes funds from the first account.

14. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 1, wherein the first account is a payment account and the information corresponding to the first account includes payment account information of the first account.

15. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 1, wherein the first account is a transit commuter account and the information corresponding to the first account includes transit pass information of the first account.

16. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 1, wherein the first account is a stored-value account and the information corresponding to the first account includes an account number of the first account, the one or more programs further including instructions for:

detecting, by the one or more short-range communication radios, a second wireless signal that includes a request for an amount of funds; and

in accordance with a determination that the second wireless signal corresponds to the first type of request, transmitting funds from the first account without checking for authentication.

17. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 1, wherein the information corresponding to the first account includes an account number of the first account, the one or more programs further including instructions for:

detecting, by the one or more short-range communication radios, a second wireless signal that includes a request for an amount of funds;

in accordance with a determination that the second wireless signal corresponds to the first type of request, and;

in accordance with a determination that the requested amount of funds does not exceed a pre-authorized transaction amount, transmitting funds from the first account without checking for authentication; and

in accordance with a determination that the requested amount of funds exceeds the pre-authorized transaction amount;

generating feedback indicating that the requested amount of funds does not correspond to an expected cost; and

checking for authentication to proceed with the transaction.

18. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 17, the one or more programs further including instructions for:

in accordance with the determination that the second wireless signal corresponds to the first type of request, and;

in accordance with the determination that the requested amount of funds exceeds the pre-authorized transaction amount;

receiving second authentication information; and

in accordance with a determination that the second authentication information is consistent with enrolled authentication information that is enabled to authorize transactions, proceeding with the transaction; and

in accordance with a determination that the second authentication information is not consistent with enrolled authentication information that is enabled to authorize transactions, forgoing proceeding with the transaction.

19. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 1, wherein the determination that the wireless signal corresponds to the first type of request is based on contextual information of the electronic device that corresponds to the time when the wireless signal was detected by the electronic device.

20. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 1, wherein the determination that the wireless signal corresponds to the first type of request includes a determination that a set of one or more contextual conditions has been met, wherein a second contextual condition of the one or more contextual conditions is met when a physical location of the electronic device that corresponds to the time when the wireless signal was detected by the electronic device corresponds to a predetermined location.

21. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 1, wherein the determination that the wireless signal corresponds to the first type of request includes a determination that a set of one or more contextual conditions has been met, wherein a third contextual condition of the one or more contextual conditions is met when the electronic device is within range of one or more wireless signals different from the wireless signal.

22. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 1, wherein the determination that the wireless signal corresponds to the first type of request includes a determination that a set of one or more contextual conditions has been met, wherein a fourth contextual condition of the one or more contextual conditions is met when the wireless signal includes a request for an amount of funds that does not exceed a fund threshold.

23. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 1, wherein the determination that the wireless signal corresponds to the first type of request includes a determination that a set of one or more unlock conditions has been met, wherein a first unlock condition of the set of one or more unlock conditions is met when the electronic device has been unlocked within a previous amount of time.

24. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 1, wherein the determination that the wireless signal corresponds to the first type of request includes a determination that a set of one or more unlock conditions has been met, wherein a second unlock condition of the set of one or more unlock conditions is met when the electronic device has been unlocked after a predetermined time of day on the day that the wireless signal is detected.

25. The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 1, wherein the determination that the wireless signal corresponds to the first type of request includes a determination that a set of one or more unlock conditions has been met, wherein a third unlock condition of the set of one or more unlock conditions is met when the electronic device has been unlocked after a restart.

29. The method of claim 2, wherein the first account is a stored-value account.

26. A method, comprising:

at an electronic device with one or more short-range communication radios and an account information application that includes a first account;

detecting, by the one or more short-range communication radios, a wireless signal from a transaction terminal;

in accordance with a determination, based on contents of the wireless signal from the transaction terminal, that the wireless signal corresponds to a first type of request, wherein the determination that the wireless signal corresponds to the first type of request includes a determination that a set of one or more contextual conditions has been met, wherein a first contextual condition of the one or more contextual conditions is met when content of the wireless signal includes a predetermined value;

transmitting, to the transaction terminal, information corresponding to the first account without checking for authentication; and

in accordance with a determination, based on contents of the wireless signal from the transaction terminal, that the wireless signal corresponds to a second type of request, checking for authentication before proceeding with a transaction corresponding to the wireless signal, wherein checking for authentication includes;

presenting an indication requesting authentication;

receiving authentication information; and

in accordance with a determination that the authentication information is consistent with enrolled authentication information that is enabled to authorize transactions, proceeding with the transaction.

28. The method of claim 26, wherein:

the first type of request is a type of request for which transmission of account information has been pre-authorized to be made automatically available without authentication; and

the second type of request is a type of request for which transmission of account information has not been pre-authorized to be made automatically available without authentication.

30. The method of claim 26, wherein transmitting information corresponding to the first account without checking for authentication includes transmitting the information corresponding to the first account without requiring user input subsequent to detecting, by the one or more short-range communication radios, the wireless signal.

31. The method of claim 26, wherein the account information application includes a second account that is different from the first account.

32. The method of claim 26, wherein proceeding with the transaction includes:

transmitting information corresponding to the first account.

33. The method of claim 26, wherein proceeding with the transaction includes:

transmitting information corresponding to a second account different from the first account.

34. The method of claim 26, further comprising:

in accordance with the determination that the wireless signal corresponds to the first type of request;

forgoing presenting any indication requesting authentication.

35. The method of claim 26, wherein the first account is one of a plurality of transit accounts stored by the account information application and the account information application stores one or more additional accounts that are not transit accounts, the method further comprising:

prior to detecting, by the one or more short-range communication radios, the wireless signal;

receiving user input selecting the first account as an account to be made available for use without checking authentication; and

in response to receiving user input selecting the first account as an account to be made available for use without checking authentication, designating the first account to be made available for use without checking authentication.

36. The method of claim 26, wherein the first account is an identification account.

37. The method of claim 26, wherein the electronic device is in a locked state prior to detecting the wireless signal and continues to remain in the locked state while transmitting information corresponding to the first account without checking for authentication.

38. The method of claim 26, wherein the information corresponding to the first account includes an account number of the first account.

39. The method of claim 26, wherein the first account is a stored-value account and the information corresponding to the first account includes funds from the first account.

40. The method of claim 26, wherein the first account is a payment account and the information corresponding to the first account includes payment account information of the first account.

41. The method of claim 26, wherein the first account is a transit commuter account and the information corresponding to the first account includes transit pass information of the first account.

42. The method of claim 26, wherein the first account is a stored-value account and the information corresponding to the first account includes an account number of the first account, the method further comprising:

detecting, by the one or more short-range communication radios, a second wireless signal that includes a request for an amount of funds; and

in accordance with a determination that the second wireless signal corresponds to the first type of request, transmitting funds from the first account without checking for authentication.

43. The method of claim 26, wherein the information corresponding to the first account includes an account number of the first account, the method further comprising:

detecting, by the one or more short-range communication radios, a second wireless signal that includes a request for an amount of funds;

in accordance with a determination that the second wireless signal corresponds to the first type of request, and;

in accordance with a determination that the requested amount of funds does not exceed a pre-authorized transaction amount, transmitting funds from the first account without checking for authentication; and

in accordance with a determination that the requested amount of funds exceeds the pre-authorized transaction amount;

generating feedback indicating that the requested amount of funds does not correspond to an expected cost; and

checking for authentication to proceed with the transaction.

44. The method of claim 43, further comprising:

in accordance with the determination that the second wireless signal corresponds to the first type of request, and;

in accordance with the determination that the requested amount of funds exceeds the pre-authorized transaction amount;

receiving second authentication information; and

in accordance with a determination that the second authentication information is consistent with enrolled authentication information that is enabled to authorize transactions, proceeding with the transaction; and

in accordance with a determination that the second authentication information is not consistent with enrolled authentication information that is enabled to authorize transactions, forgoing proceeding with the transaction.

45. The method of claim 26, wherein the determination that the wireless signal corresponds to the first type of request is based on contextual information of the electronic device that corresponds to the time when the wireless signal was detected by the electronic device.

46. The method of claim 26, wherein the determination that the wireless signal corresponds to the first type of request includes a determination that a set of one or more contextual conditions has been met, wherein a second contextual condition of the one or more contextual conditions is met when a physical location of the electronic device that corresponds to the time when the wireless signal was detected by the electronic device corresponds to a predetermined location.

47. The method of claim 26, wherein the determination that the wireless signal corresponds to the first type of request includes a determination that a set of one or more contextual conditions has been met, wherein a third contextual condition of the one or more contextual conditions is met when the electronic device is within range of one or more wireless signals different from the wireless signal.

The method of claim 26, wherein the determination that the wireless signal corresponds to the first type of request includes a determination that a set of one or more contextual conditions has been met, wherein a fourth contextual condition of the one or more contextual conditions is met when the wireless signal includes a request for an amount of funds that does not exceed a fund threshold.

49. The method of claim 26, wherein the determination that the wireless signal corresponds to the first type of request includes a determination that a set of one or more unlock conditions has been met, wherein a first unlock condition of the set of one or more unlock conditions is met when the electronic device has been unlocked within a previous amount of time.

50. The method of claim 26, wherein the determination that the wireless signal corresponds to the first type of request includes a determination that a set of one or more unlock conditions has been met, wherein a second unlock condition of the set of one or more unlock conditions is met when the electronic device has been unlocked after a predetermined time of day on the day that the wireless signal is detected.

51. The method of claim 26, wherein the determination that the wireless signal corresponds to the first type of request includes a determination that a set of one or more unlock conditions has been met, wherein a third unlock condition of the set of one or more unlock conditions is met when the electronic device has been unlocked after a restart.

27. An electronic device, comprising:

one or more short-range communication radios;

an account information application that includes a first account;

one or more processors; and

a memory storing one or more programs configured to be executed by the one or more processors, the one or more programs including instructions for;

detecting, by the one or more short-range communication radios, a wireless signal from a transaction terminal;

in accordance with a determination, based on contents of the wireless signal from the transaction terminal, that the wireless signal corresponds to a first type of request, wherein the determination that the wireless signal corresponds to the first type of request includes a determination that a set of one or more contextual conditions has been met, wherein a first contextual condition of the one or more contextual conditions is met when content of the wireless signal includes a predetermined value;

transmitting, to the transaction terminal, information corresponding to the first account without checking for authentication; and

in accordance with a determination, based on contents of the wireless signal from the transaction terminal, that the wireless signal corresponds to a second type of request, checking for authentication before proceeding with a transaction corresponding to the wireless signal, wherein checking for authentication includes;

presenting an indication requesting authentication;

receiving authentication information; and

in accordance with a determination that the authentication information is consistent with enrolled authentication information that is enabled to authorize transactions, proceeding with the transaction.

52. The electronic device of claim 27, wherein:

the first type of request is a type of request for which transmission of account information has been pre-authorized to be made automatically available without authentication; and

the second type of request is a type of request for which transmission of account information has not been pre-authorized to be made automatically available without authentication.

53. The electronic device of claim 27, wherein the first account is a stored-value account.

54. The electronic device of claim 27, wherein transmitting information corresponding to the first account without checking for authentication includes transmitting the information corresponding to the first account without requiring user input subsequent to detecting, by the one or more short-range communication radios, the wireless signal.

55. The electronic device of claim 27, wherein the account information application includes a second account that is different from the first account.

56. The electronic device of claim 27, wherein proceeding with the transaction includes:

transmitting information corresponding to the first account.

57. The electronic device of claim 27, wherein proceeding with the transaction includes:

transmitting information corresponding to a second account different from the first account.

58. The electronic device of claim 27, the one or more programs further including instructions for:

in accordance with the determination that the wireless signal corresponds to the first type of request;

forgoing presenting any indication requesting authentication.

59. The electronic device of claim 27, wherein the first account is one of a plurality of transit accounts stored by the account information application and the account information application stores one or more additional accounts that are not transit accounts, the one or more programs further including instructions for:

prior to detecting, by the one or more short-range communication radios, the wireless signal;

receiving user input selecting the first account as an account to be made available for use without checking authentication; and

in response to receiving user input selecting the first account as an account to be made available for use without checking authentication, designating the first account to be made available for use without checking authentication.

60. The electronic device of claim 27, wherein the first account is an identification account.

61. The electronic device of claim 27, wherein the electronic device is in a locked state prior to detecting the wireless signal and continues to remain in the locked state while transmitting information corresponding to the first account without checking for authentication.

62. The electronic device of claim 27, wherein the information corresponding to the first account includes an account number of the first account.

63. The electronic device of claim 27, wherein the first account is a stored-value account and the information corresponding to the first account includes funds from the first account.

64. The electronic device of claim 27, wherein the first account is a payment account and the information corresponding to the first account includes payment account information of the first account.

65. The electronic device of claim 27, wherein the first account is a transit commuter account and the information corresponding to the first account includes transit pass information of the first account.

66. The electronic device of claim 27, wherein the first account is a stored-value account and the information corresponding to the first account includes an account number of the first account, the one or more programs further including instructions for:

detecting, by the one or more short-range communication radios, a second wireless signal that includes a request for an amount of funds; and

in accordance with a determination that the second wireless signal corresponds to the first type of request, transmitting funds from the first account without checking for authentication.

67. The electronic device of claim 27, wherein the information corresponding to the first account includes an account number of the first account, the one or more programs further including instructions for:

detecting, by the one or more short-range communication radios, a second wireless signal that includes a request for an amount of funds;

in accordance with a determination that the second wireless signal corresponds to the first type of request, and;

in accordance with a determination that the requested amount of funds does not exceed a pre-authorized transaction amount, transmitting funds from the first account without checking for authentication; and

in accordance with a determination that the requested amount of funds exceeds the pre-authorized transaction amount;

generating feedback indicating that the requested amount of funds does not correspond to an expected cost; and

checking for authentication to proceed with the transaction.

68. The electronic device of claim 67, the one or more programs further including instructions for:

in accordance with the determination that the second wireless signal corresponds to the first type of request, and;

in accordance with the determination that the requested amount of funds exceeds the pre-authorized transaction amount;

receiving second authentication information; and

in accordance with a determination that the second authentication information is consistent with enrolled authentication information that is enabled to authorize transactions, proceeding with the transaction; and

in accordance with a determination that the second authentication information is not consistent with enrolled authentication information that is enabled to authorize transactions, forgoing proceeding with the transaction.

69. The electronic device of claim 27, wherein the determination that the wireless signal corresponds to the first type of request is based on contextual information of the electronic device that corresponds to the time when the wireless signal was detected by the electronic device.

70. The electronic device of claim 27, wherein the determination that the wireless signal corresponds to the first type of request includes a determination that a set of one or more contextual conditions has been met, wherein a second contextual condition of the one or more contextual conditions is met when a physical location of the electronic device that corresponds to the time when the wireless signal was detected by the electronic device corresponds to a predetermined location.

71. The electronic device of claim 27, wherein the determination that the wireless signal corresponds to the first type of request includes a determination that a set of one or more contextual conditions has been met, wherein a third contextual condition of the one or more contextual conditions is met when the electronic device is within range of one or more wireless signals different from the wireless signal.

72. The electronic device of claim 27, wherein the determination that the wireless signal corresponds to the first type of request includes a determination that a set of one or more contextual conditions has been met, wherein a fourth contextual condition of the one or more contextual conditions is met when the wireless signal includes a request for an amount of funds that does not exceed a fund threshold.

73. The electronic device of claim 27, wherein the determination that the wireless signal corresponds to the first type of request includes a determination that a set of one or more unlock conditions has been met, wherein a first unlock condition of the set of one or more unlock conditions is met when the electronic device has been unlocked within a previous amount of time.

74. The electronic device of claim 27, wherein the determination that the wireless signal corresponds to the first type of request includes a determination that a set of one or more unlock conditions has been met, wherein a second unlock condition of the set of one or more unlock conditions is met when the electronic device has been unlocked after a predetermined time of day on the day that the wireless signal is detected.

75. The electronic device of claim 27, wherein the determination that the wireless signal corresponds to the first type of request includes a determination that a set of one or more unlock conditions has been met, wherein a third unlock condition of the set of one or more unlock conditions is met when the electronic device has been unlocked after a restart.
