1. A miniature vein enhancer, for use in performing a venipuncture procedure, said miniature vein enhancer comprising:

  • a single laser for emitting a beam consisting of visible light at a selective wavelength permitting differential absorption, a housing, a movable mirror, a mirror drive system, and means for adjusting an intensity of said beam of laser light from said single laser;

    said single laser mounted in said housing for said movable mirror to receive said beam of laser light, for said mirror drive system to selectively cause movement of said movable mirror for transmitting said beam of laser light in a pattern onto a three-dimensional body target area, with said means for adjusting said intensity alternating between at least a first intensity level and a second intensity level for producing said pattern on the three-dimensional body target area as a series of spots, thereby creating said pattern of said spots of light directly on the three-dimensional body target area for said selective wavelength to form a three-dimensional contrast, said three-dimensional contrast comprising one or more dark areas identifying locations of one or more blood vessels within the three-dimensional body target area, with one or more lighter areas identifying the tissue surrounding the one or more blood vessels, said three-dimensional contrast permitting accurate performance of a venipuncture procedure.
