1. A metal oxide nanorod array structure comprising:

  • a honeycomb monolithic substrate having a surface and multiple channels;

    an interface layer bonded to the surface of the substrate; and

    a metal oxide nanorod array coupled to the substrate surface via the interface layer, wherein the metal oxide nanorod is formed of TiO2, CeO2, ZnO, SnO2, Al2O3, ZrO2, Co3O4, or Ga2O3.
