Abstract

The present invention relates to a stent for the positioning and anchoring of a valvular prosthesis in an implantation site in the heart of a patient. Specifically, the present invention relates to an expandable stent for an endoprosthesis used in the treatment of a narrowing of a cardiac valve and/or a cardiac valve insufficiency. So as to ensure that no longitudinal displacement of a valvular prosthesis fastened to a stent will occur relative the stent in the implanted state of the stent, even given the peristaltic motion of the heart, the stent according to the invention comprises at least one fastening portion via which the valvular prosthesis is connectable to the stent. The stent further comprises positioning arches and retaining arches, whereby at least one positioning arch is connected to at least one retaining arch.

Claims

1. An endoprosthesis comprising:

a plurality of first arches, each first arch having an apex pointing in a proximal direction;

a plurality of second arches, each second arch having an apex axially aligned, in a longitudinal direction of the endoprosthesis, with an apex of a corresponding first arch;

a supporting structure located at a proximal-most end of the endoprosthesis, at least a portion of the supporting structure being flared radially outward, wherein the supporting structure comprises at least one row of lattice cells, and a proximal-most end of each lattice cell includes a notch; and

a heart valve prosthesis attached to the plurality of second arches.

2. The endoprosthesis of claim 1, wherein the supporting structure is flared radially outward along an entire circumference of the endoprosthesis.

3. The endoprosthesis of claim 1, wherein the supporting structure includes exactly one row of lattice cells.

4. The endoprosthesis of claim 1, wherein the lattice cells of the supporting structure have a rhomboid shape.

5. The endoprosthesis of claim 1, wherein the supporting structure is proximal to the apex of each second arch of the plurality of second arches.

6. The endoprosthesis of claim 1, wherein the heart valve prosthesis includes a skirt portion attached to the supporting structure at the notch of each lattice cell.

The endoprosthesis of claim 1, further comprising a plurality of third arches, each third arch having an apex pointing in a distal direction and being axially aligned, in the longitudinal direction of the endoprosthesis, with an apex of a corresponding first arch of the plurality of first arches.

8. The endoprosthesis of claim 1, wherein the apex of each second arch of the plurality of second arches points in the proximal direction.

9. The endoprosthesis of claim 1, wherein each second arch of the plurality of second arches includes two arms, and at least one side of each arm includes a plurality of notches for attachment of the heart valve prosthesis thereto.

10. An endoprosthesis comprising:

a plurality of first arches, each first arch having an apex pointing in a proximal direction;

a plurality of second arches, each second arch having an apex pointing in a proximal direction and being axially aligned, in a longitudinal direction of the endoprosthesis, with an apex of a corresponding first arch;

a reinforcement structure comprising a plurality of lattice cells disposed between each second arch and an adjacent second arch;

a supporting structure located at a proximal-most end of the stent, the supporting structure comprising at least one row of lattice cells, wherein at least a portion of the supporting structure is flared radially outward, such that the proximal-most end of the endoprosthesis has a diameter larger than a diameter of a portion of the endoprosthesis distal to the supporting structure; and

a heart valve prosthesis attached to the supporting structure.

11. The endoprosthesis of claim 10, wherein the reinforcement structure is distal to the apex of each second arch of the plurality of second arches.

12. The endoprosthesis of claim 10, further comprising a plurality of third arches, each third arch extending from a corresponding first arch of the plurality of first arches and having an apex pointing in a distal direction.

13. The endoprosthesis of claim 10, wherein the supporting structure includes exactly one row of lattice cells.

14. The endoprosthesis of claim 10, wherein the heart valve prosthesis is attached to each second arch of the plurality of second arches.

15. The endoprosthesis of claim 10, wherein the plurality of first arches is configured to be positioned radially outward of a plurality of native heart valve leaflets, and the plurality of second arches is configured to be positioned radially inward of the plurality of native heart valve leaflets.

16. An endoprosthesis comprising:

a plurality of first arches, each first arch having an apex pointing in a proximal direction;

a plurality of second arches, each second arch having an apex axially aligned, in a longitudinal direction of the endoprosthesis, with an apex of a corresponding first arch, wherein each second arch includes two arms, and at least one side of each arm includes a plurality of notches;

a plurality of third arches, each third arch having an apex pointing in the distal direction and being axially aligned, in the longitudinal direction of the endoprosthesis, with an apex of a corresponding first arch of the plurality of first arches;

a supporting structure located at a proximal-most end of the stent, the supporting structure including exactly one row of lattice cells proximal to the apex of each second arch of the plurality of second arches; and

a heart valve prosthesis attached to each second arch of the plurality of second arches.

17. The endoprosthesis of claim 16, wherein each second arch of the plurality of second arches includes a plurality of notches, and the heart valve prosthesis is attached to each second arch at the plurality of notches.

18. The endoprosthesis of claim 16, wherein the supporting structure is flared radially outward, such that the proximal-most end of the endoprosthesis has a diameter larger than a diameter of a portion of the endoprosthesis distal to the supporting structure.

19. The endoprosthesis of claim 16, wherein the plurality of first arches includes exactly three arches.

20. The endoprosthesis of claim 16, wherein the supporting structure is proximal to the apex of each second arch of the plurality of second arches, and the endoprosthesis further comprises a plurality of lattice cells connecting each second arch to an adjacent second arch at a location distal to the apex of each second arch.
