Energy delivery systems and uses thereof
First Claim
1. A system, comprisinga microwave ablation device comprisinga proximal region, a central region and a distal region, the distal region comprising an antenna configured to deliver microwave ablation energy,at least one stick region positioned within said central region and/or the proximal region and configured to attain and maintain a temperature causing freezing of tissue to facilitate adhering of the tissue to the stick region in order to stabilize the microwave ablation device in a desired position with respect to a tissue region during microwave ablation;
- a seal positioned between the stick region and the distal region thereby preventing exposure of the stick region to the distal region;
a processor comprising processor software configured for operating the microwave ablation device; and
software configured to interact with the processor, wherein the software is configured to provide a drawn desired ablation zone based upon inputted information associated with a tissue region.

Abstract
The present invention relates to comprehensive systems, devices and methods for delivering energy to tissue for a wide variety of applications, including medical procedures (e.g., tissue ablation, resection, cautery, vascular thrombosis, treatment of cardiac arrhythmias and dysrhythmias, electrosurgery, tissue harvest, etc.). In certain embodiments, systems, devices, and methods are provided for treating a tissue region (e.g., a tumor) through application of energy.

13. A system, comprising
a microwave ablation device comprising a proximal region, a central region and a distal region, the distal region comprising an antenna configured to deliver microwave ablation energy, at least one stick region positioned within said central region and/or the proximal region and configured to attain and maintain a temperature causing freezing of tissue to facilitate adhering of the tissue to the stick region in order to stabilize the microwave ablation device in a desired position with respect to a tissue region during microwave ablation; - and
a processor comprising processor software configured for operating the microwave ablation device, wherein the processor is configured to regulate the amount of microwave energy provided to a tissue region through the microwave ablation device, wherein the regulation of the amount of microwave energy provided to a tissue region is accomplished through monitoring one or more of the following;
changes in temperature of the microwave ablation device, changes in temperature of the tissue region, changes in size of the tissue region, changes in shape of the tissue region, and changes in vascularity associated with the tissue region. - View Dependent Claims (14)
