Measurement system
First Claim
1. A measurement system comprising:
- a sensor guide wire comprising;
a distal end,a proximal end,a hollow tube,a core wire,at least one electrical lead,an insertable portion at the distal end of the sensor guide wire, the insertable portion being configured to be inserted in a blood vessel of a patient'"'"'s body, said insertable portion comprising;
a jacket or sleeve with a proximal end and a distal end,a first portion attached to the proximal end of the jacket or sleeve,a second portion whose proximal end is connected to the distal end of the jacket or sleeve, anda tip attached to a distal end of the second portion, anda first sensor disposed within the jacket or sleeve of the insertable portion at the distal end of the sensor guide wire, wherein the first sensor is configured to measure a first parameter when inserted inside the patient; and
a transceiver unit comprising a housing adapted to be connected to the proximal end of the sensor guide wire;
wherein the housing is configured to remain external to the patient'"'"'s body,wherein the sensor guide wire comprises a second sensor disposed within the jacket or sleeve of the insertable portion at the distal end of the sensor guide wire, the second sensor being configured to measure a second parameter when inserted inside the patient, wherein the second parameter is different from the first parameter,wherein the measurement system further comprises a first sensor signal adapting circuitry configured to filter, process, and format signals received from the first sensor relating to said first parameter and a second sensor signal adapting circuitry configured to filter, process, and format signals received from the second sensor relating to said second parameter, in order to produce first and second filtered, processed and formatted signals containing data relating to said first and second parameters,wherein the transceiver unit further comprises at least one first communication module for transmitting data relating to said first and second parameters, wherein said first communication module is adapted to directly communicate with at least one second communication module housed within an external device, andwherein at least one of said sensor signal adapting circuitries is partially located in the transceiver unit and is partially located in said external device.

Abstract
A measurement system may comprise a sensor wire and a transceiver unit. The sensor wire may comprise an insertable portion configured to be inserted in a blood vessel of a patient'"'"'s body and two sensors disposed within the insertable portion at a distal end of the sensor wire. The sensors are configured to measure a parameter when inserted inside the patient. The transceiver unit may comprise: a housing adapted to be connected to a proximal end of the sensor wire; and a first communication module within the housing adapted to wirelessly communicate by a communication signal with an external second communication module in order to transfer information to the external second communication module.
