1. A total artificial spinous process (spino)-laminar prosthesis (TASP-LP) comprising:
- a body having an anterior side configured to face a spinal element and a posterior side configured to face away from the spinal element;
a spinous process mimicking portion extending away from the posterior side of the body and terminating at a lobe at a distal end of the prosthesis, wherein the lobe is one of a bifid lobe and a monofid lobe and the terminal end of the lobe is offset from the body;
first and second lamina mimicking portions extending from the anterior side of the body and terminating in a first laminar mounting base and a second laminar mounting base, respectively, at a proximal end of the prosthesis, the first and second laminar mounting bases configured to couple the first and second lamina mimicking portions to a first part of a natural lamina of the spinal element and a second part of the natural lamina, respectively,wherein the first lamina mimicking portion and the second lamina mimicking portion are disposed on opposite sides of the spinous process.
