First Claim
1. A radio reception method, comprising:
- receiving a signal in a radio frequency band with a receiver, comprising a first signal component representing a radio frequency communication from a first transmitter which is remote with respect to the receiver, and a second signal component associated with a second transmitter which is co-located with respect to the receiver;
digitally controlling at least one delay element, to produce a delayed representation of a representation of a signal transmitted by the second transmitter, having a controllable phase with respect to the second signal component, in dependence on at least one of a digital correlation and a digital frequency transformation produced by a digital processor;
combining at least a portion of the second signal component with the delayed representation of the representation of the signal transmitted by the second transmitter, in an analog combiner element, to produce a modified signal having a suppressed portion of the second signal component;
digitizing the modified signal in an analog to digital converter;
digitally controlling the at least one delay element, in dependence on at least the digitized modified signal; and
digitally processing the digitized modified signal, to demodulate information communicated by the first transmitter in the first signal component, wherein the digitally controlled at least one delay element is effective for increasing a signal to noise ratio of the first signal component in the digitized modified signal.

Abstract
A processor, comprising a first data input configured to receive a stream of samples of a first signal having a spectral space, the stream having a data rate of at least 4 GHz; a second data input configured to receive a stream of samples of a second signal; a multitap correlator, configured to receive the first stream of samples and the second stream of samples, and producing at least one correlation output for each respective sequential sample of the first signal received; and a programmable control configured to alter a relationship of the stream of samples of the first signal and the stream of samples of the second signal, to thereby select, under program control, an alterable correlation output.
