1. A method of testing at least one modified antisense oligonucleotide of 10-30 nucleotides in length for modulatory activity of a target Adiponectin mRNA polynucleotide comprising:
- selecting said target Adiponectin polynucleotide;
identifying at least one natural antisense polynucleotide of said target Adioponectin mRNA polynucleotide;
identifying at least one modified antisense oligonucleotide which are complementary to said at least one natural antisense polynucleotide of the selected target Adiponectin mRNA polynucleotide;
measuring, in vitro, the thermal melting point of a hybrid of the modified antisense oligonucleotide and the at least one natural antisense polynucleotide under stringent hybridization conditions; and
measuring the modulation activity of the modified antisense oligonucleotide to modulate the mRNA of the target Adiponectin polynucleotide relative to a mock-transfected control.

Abstract
The present invention relates to antisense oligonucleotides that modulate the expression of and/or function of an Adiponectin (ADIPOQ), in particular, by targeting natural antisense polynucleotides of an Adiponectin (ADIPOQ). The invention also relates to the identification of these antisense oligonucleotides and their use in treating diseases and disorders associated with the expression of Adiponectins (ADIPOQ)s.
