1. An algorithmic method for representing interactions in a representation of a system in n-dimensional space the method comprising:

  • generating and electronically storing a database system comprising a logical data model having a data structure representing an organization of nodes for aggregating data entities and aggregating attributes of the data entities in a functional information system, the data entities representing elements of the functional system as a network of heterogeneous components,wherein the functional information system represents a group of elements subdivided into ordered sets of fields, a plurality of which have a defined logical data model with respect to values that are used to characterize a plurality of elements;

    electronically storing a set of data entities as nodes in the logical data model, the data entities corresponding to elements of the functional system;

    electronically assigning tags representing functional attributes of the elements to the set of data entities, wherein the functional attributes are properties of the elements of the functional system and wherein the tags comprise standardized values represented as reference points in an n-dimensional space;

    wherein the reference points in the n-dimensional space comprise coordinate identifiers for the locations of elements in the functional information system representing at least one function of the set of data entities;

    electronically storing the functional attributes in the logical data model as represented in n-dimensional space;

    electronically traversing the database to connect two or more reference points in the n-dimensional space, thereby representing a relationship between the data entities such that functional interactions of a plurality of elements of the functional system are identified with respect to a plurality of other elements of the functional system;

    presenting a connection based on the functional attributes or the functional interactions, wherein an acceptance of the connection increases a weight of a similar connection between the nodes and a rejection of the connection decreases a weight of a similar connection between the nodes in the logical data model representation of the functional system; and

    receiving and storing an update to a data entity in the database system that corresponds to a change in the functional system, the update based on a functional interaction associated with at least one location in n-dimensional space.
