Proximity based alarm suppression
First Claim
1. One or more non-transitory computer storage media storing computer-useable instructions that, when used by one or more computing devices, cause the one or more computing devices to perform operations comprising:
- receiving an indication that an alarm associated with an infusion device has been triggered;
determining that a clinician is in proximity to the infusion device;
automatically suppressing the alarm associated with the infusion device, wherein the alarm is suppressed on the infusion device and is not forwarded to a mobile device associated with the clinician; and
communicating data associated with the alarm to an electronic medical record associated with a patient.

Abstract
Methods, computer systems and computer readable media of proximity based alarm suppression are provided. In embodiments, a device signal emitted by a device signal transmitter associated with an infusion device is detected. A clinician signal emitted by a clinician signal transmitter associated with a clinician is detected. The device signal and the clinician signal are detected at a signal receiver having a known location. Based on the detecting of the device signal and the clinician signal, the clinician is determined to be in proximity to the infusion device. Based on the proximity of the clinician to the infusion device, an alarm associated with the infusion device is automatically suppressed.

13. A computer-implemented method in a clinical computing environment comprising:
-
detecting, via a first computing process, a device signal emitted by a device signal transmitter associated with an infusion device, the device signal detected at a signal receiver having a known location; detecting, via a second computing process, a clinician signal emitted by a clinician signal transmitter associated with a clinician, the clinician signal detected at the signal receiver having the known location; based on the detecting the device signal and the clinician signal, determining, via a third computing process, that the clinician is in proximity to the infusion device; automatically suppressing, via a fourth computing process, an alarm associated with the infusion device; and communicating, via a fifth computing process, data associated with the alarm to an electronic medical record associated with a patient, wherein each computing process is performed by one or more computing devices. - View Dependent Claims (14, 15, 16, 17, 18)

19. A system comprising:
-
one or more processors; and one or more non-transitory computer storage media storing instructions that, when used by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to; detect a device signal emitted by a device signal transmitter associated with an infusion device, the device signal detected at a signal receiver having a known location; detect a clinician signal emitted by a clinician signal transmitter associated with a clinician, the clinician signal detected at the signal receiver having the known location; based on detecting the device signal and the clinician signal, determine that the clinician is in proximity to the infusion device; based on the proximity of the clinician to the infusion device, automatically suppress an alarm associated with the infusion device, wherein the alarm indicates that a witness is needed to perform an order associated with the infusion device; detect a witness signal emitted by a witness signal transmitter associated with the witness, the witness signal detected at the signal receiver having the known location; based on detecting the witness signal and the device signal, determine that the witness is also in proximity to the infusion device; and based on determining that the clinician and the witness are in proximity to the infusion device, enable the infusion device to perform the order.
