1. An EEG monitor for continuously monitoring the EEG of a user through capacitive coupling to an ear canal of a user, said EEG monitor comprising an ear insert for positioning within the ear canal of the user, and at least two capacitive electrodes arranged in the ear insert and adapted for recording a signal, the electrodes being coated with a dielectricum for electrical isolation of the electrodes, an amplifier connected to the electrodes for amplification of signals recorded by said electrodes, wherein the amplifier has an input impedance matched to an impedance of at least one of the electrodes, and wherein the one electrode is connected to the amplifier via a connection comprising a signal wire and a shield, and said monitor comprising a sample-and-hold circuit holding a potential of the shield close to a potential of the signal wire.
