1. A wireless communication device comprising:
- a processor configured to;
generate an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) packet that includes, based on time, a signal field (SIG) that is adjacently followed by a copy of the SIG that is adjacently followed by at least one other field, wherein the SIG is based on a first communication protocol, and wherein the at least one other field is based on a second communication protocol that is different than the first communication protocol; and
transmit the OFDM packet to another wireless communication device.

Abstract
A wireless communication device (alternatively, device) includes a processor configured to support communications with other wireless communication device(s) and to generate and process signals for such communications. In some examples, the device includes a communication interface and a processor, among other possible circuitries, components, elements, etc. to support communications with other wireless communication device(s) and to generate and process signals for such communications. The device is configured to generate OFDM/A packet(s) that include a signal field (SIG) and a copy of that SIG (e.g., a repeat of the SIG, a repetition of the SIG, a duplicate of the SIG, etc.). In some examples, the copy of the SIG adjacently follows the SIG. Also, in some examples of a OFDM/A packet, the SIG and its copy are based on one communication protocol, standard, and/or recommended practice, and another field therein is based on another communication protocol, standard, and/or recommended practice.
