1. A device comprising:

  • a plurality of filaments plain woven together to form a self-expanding body suitable for implantation into an anatomical structure, each of the filaments comprising filament ends, the self-expanding body comprising first and second ends, the filaments crossing each other to form a plurality of angles, at least one of the angles being obtuse, and both filament ends of at least one filament being located proximate to one of the first and second ends of the self-expanding body;

    wherein the value of the at least one obtuse angle is increased by axially compressing the self-expanding body; and

    wherein each filament end is fixedly joined to another filament end instead of by twisting, wherein upon bending of the body to bring the first and second ends together no shortening occurs and a diameter of the body does not increase.
