1. A method for performing an operation related to controlling one or more energy consuming devices, the method comprising:

  • monitoring energy consumption data for multiple, different monitored properties;

    monitoring sensor data captured by one or more sensors that sense attributes relevant to user presence at each of the multiple, different monitored properties;

    monitoring device status for one or more energy consuming devices associated with each of the multiple, different monitored properties;

    evaluating, by at least one computer, the energy consumption data for the multiple, different monitored properties, the sensor data captured by one or more sensors that sense attributes relevant to user presence at each of the multiple, different monitored properties, and the device status for one or more energy consuming devices associated with each of the multiple, different monitored properties; and

    based on evaluation results, providing an energy usage suggestion to at least one user associated with at least one of the multiple, different monitored properties,wherein evaluating the energy consumption data for the multiple, different monitored properties, the sensor data captured by one or more sensors that sense attributes relevant to user presence at each of the multiple, different monitored properties, and the device status for one or more energy consuming devices associated with each of the multiple, different monitored properties comprises identifying an efficient energy user based on the monitored energy consumption data, the monitored sensor data, and the monitored device status, andwherein providing the energy usage suggestion to at least one user associated with at least one of the multiple, different monitored properties comprises providing an energy usage suggestion to a user that is different than the efficient energy user based on energy usage of the efficient energy user.
