Power receiving apparatus and power transmission system
First Claim
1. A power receiving apparatus that receives power from a power transmission apparatus having a power transmission coupling unit, the power receiving apparatus comprising:
- a power receiving coupling unit configured to be electrically field coupled or magnetically field coupled with the power transmission coupling unit of the power transmission apparatus;
a resonance circuit connected to the power receiving coupling unit;
a resonance condition changing circuit including a first switch that changes a resonance condition of the resonance circuit based on a state of the first switch;
a rectifying and smoothing circuit that rectifies and smoothes an AC voltage outputted from the resonance circuit and supplies the voltage to a load;
a second switch that connects or disconnects the rectifying and smoothing circuit to the load; and
a control circuit configured to;
notify the load of a start of communication with the power transmission apparatus and receive a response from the load;
control the state of the first switch to generate a signal to be sent to the power transmission apparatus; and
control the second switch to connect or disconnect the rectifying and smoothing circuit to the load based on the response received from the load.

Abstract
A power receiving apparatus to which power is transmitted from a power transmission apparatus through electric field coupling includes a parallel resonance circuit in which an active electrode and a passive electrode are connected, a capacitor and a first switch that change a resonance condition of the parallel resonance circuit, and a second switch that supplies or cuts off an AC voltage, outputted from the parallel resonance circuit, to or from a load. The power receiving apparatus also includes a communication unit that notifies of the start of communication with the power transmission apparatus and receives a response to the notification, a first switching unit that generates a signal to be sent to the power transmission apparatus, and a second switching unit that connects or disconnects the second switch based on the response received by the communication unit.
