1. A method of flexible open origination, the method comprising:
- determining a triggering event associated with a user who does not have an account with a financial institution based on one or more characteristics of the user;
in response to the triggering event, generating a notification that directs the user to download a software application to a mobile computing device over a computer network, the notification comprising a network link to a landing page where the software application can be downloaded, the software application comprising a financial management software application for managing one or more accounts associated with the user that are held at different financial institutions, the software application accessible by the user from within the financial institution'"'"'s system even though the user does not have an account with the financial institution;
deriving an incentive for downloading and using the software application, the incentive associated with the one or more characteristics of the user and correlated to the triggering event;
notifying the user of the incentive for downloading and using the software application;
receiving authentication information from the user for the software application from within the software application;
in response to verifying validity of the authentication information entered into the software application, logging the user into the software application;
receiving, over the computer network, user data entered into the software application; and
in response to the receiving of the user data, determining that the user has downloaded and used the software application and compensating the user according to the incentive.

Abstract
The disclosure extends to computer-implemented personal financial management tools, methods and systems for providing financial transaction data to users and attracting origination customers to a financial institution within a financial business computing environment. The disclosure also extends to a flexible Open Origination that allows any type of mobile, internet, online, personal financial management software, finance tool, or other useful function, device or software, that a bank or financial institution provides to account holders, and offers that same functionality to all users, regardless of their account status. Non-account holders can download and utilize the Banking Software in question in order to enjoy its features, and to become familiar with the experience of doing business with the bank or financial institution that provides the software. This method, system and software allows any user, regardless of where his/her accounts are located, to use the financial software and benefit from its functionality.
