1. A user equipment (UE) comprising:

  • transceiver circuitry arranged to;

    receive discontinuous reception (DRX) parameters from an evolved Node-B (eNB), the DRX parameters including a long DRX cycle parameter and a long DRX cycle start offset parameter,the long DRX cycle start offset parameter to configure the UE to support one of a plurality of long DRX cycles that includes a long DRX cycle of seventy subframes; and

    processing circuitry arranged to monitor a control channel in subframes as indicated by the DRX parameters.
