    whereinthe donor tissue material is produced by distending and dissociating a pancreas orpancreas tissueby ductal infusion of a collagenase enzyme, andthe islets are dispersed in the culture medium, and the islets are present in an amount less than about 70% and greater than about 20% of the total area of the acinar tissue and an endocrine tissue present in the culture medium, the amount of islets being calculated by the ratio of the area encompassed by the islets to the total area of acinar tissue and endocrine tissue present in the culture medium; and

    forming pancreatites in the culture medium via aggregation of the acinar tissue and the dispersed islets;

    whereinthe islets were obtained from a donor selected from the group consisting of a non-adult donor and a juvenile donor,the islets comprise immature islets, andthe culture medium is present on a gas permeable membrane.
