1. A device for communicating with implantable drug delivery devices, comprising:

  • an input component;

    a feedback component;

    a first communication interface configured to communicate with an implantable drug delivery device that is configured to administer a preprogrammed drug delivery regimen;

    a second communication interface, different from the first communication interface, configured to communicate with a mobile communication device;

    a memory; and

    a processor coupled to the input component, the feedback component, the first communication interface, the second communication interface, and the memory, and configured with processor-executable instructions to perform operations comprising;

    receiving, via the input component, a request to modify the preprogrammed drug delivery regimen;

    determining whether the requested modification to the preprogrammed drug delivery regimen is allowed in response to receiving the request to modify the preprogrammed drug delivery regimen via the input component;

    transmitting the requested modification to the preprogrammed drug delivery regimen to the implantable drug delivery device via the first communication interface in response to determining that the requested modification is allowed; and

    displaying an indication on the feedback component of whether the received request to modify the preprogrammed drug delivery regimen is allowed.
