- treating a comminuted biomass that comprises cellulosic or lignocellulosics material with an electron beam radiation dose of between about 10 Mrad and about 1000 Mrad so as to reduce the recalcitrance of the cellulosic or lignocellulosic material, andadding a solid enzyme to the treated biomass to produce a combination of the solid enzyme and the treated biomass.
