1. A method for conducting non-keyword based searching by utilizing an electronic concept base that results in improved electronic search results, the method comprising:

  • plotting, by a processing device, a set of concepts derived from a selected set of fingerprints on a terminology system, wherein;

    the plotting generates a map, andthe set of concepts are obtained from the electronic concept base used for the non-keyword based searching;

    selecting, by the processing device, a single concept from the set of concepts;

    determining, by the processing device, a relative importance of the selected single concept by applying a correction algorithm selected from at least one of;

    log 10(1+T/S),
    (1/(S+1))exp,
    log 10((T+1)/(S+1)), and
    log(S+off),wherein T is a total number of documents, S is a frequency of the at least one concept in all documents, and S+off>

    1, 0.0001 or off is a user defined exponent;

    displaying, by the processing device, the map with the set of concepts and the selected single concept;

    indicating, by the processing device, the relative importance of the selected single concept with respect to the set of concepts on the map; and

    conducting the non-keyword based searching by weighting the selected single concept based on the determined relative importance of the selected single concept such that search results that are generated as a result of the non-keyword based searching reflect the weighted selected single concept.
