1. A trust authority for assigning to a person, file, or network path associated with a communication conducted during a single interaction session between at least an end user device and at least one other work station or other computing device, an indication of trustworthiness, the trust authority comprising:

  • a processor;

    a memory, wherein the memory has stored thereon instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to;

    assemble, at the trust authority, information concerning the person, file, or network path;

    determine, at the trust authority, a first trust score in response to the assembled information, wherein the first trust score is personal to a specific user, and wherein the instructions that cause the processor to determine the first trust score include instructions that cause the processor to retrieve, from a data repository coupled to the trust authority, or from the end user device taking a form of a computerized appliance, a profile of the specific user with information on trust rules to follow for the specific user;

    provide, from the trust authority to the end user device, and in response to the determined first trust score, a first indicia indicative of the first trust score of the specific user for the person, file, or network path, for output on the end user device accessible to the specific user;

    as the communication progresses during the single interaction session, identify, by the trust authority, additional information associated with the person, file, or network path;

    determine, at the trust authority, a second trust score in response to the identified additional information;

    provide, from the trust authority to the end user device, a second indicia indicative of the second trust score for output on the end user device; and

    perform, by the trust authority, an action causing a change at the end user device, or at a router in the network path, based on a difference between the first trust score and the second trust score,wherein the communication transmits the file, wherein the first and second trust scores relate to the file, andwherein the first and second indicia are visual indicia for display on the end user device.
