Abstract

According to some aspects, a base station may transmit a radio resources control (RRC) message to a wireless device. The RRC message may comprise configuration parameters for an enhanced physical downlink control channel (ePDCCH) associated with one or more subframes in a frame. The base station may transmit, via the ePDCCH, scheduling information for a packet. The base station may receive the packet according to the scheduling information, for example.

Claims

1. A method for use in a base station, the method comprising:

transmitting, by the base station and to a wireless device via a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH), first scheduling information for a radio resource control (RRC) message;

transmitting, to the wireless device and based on the first scheduling information, the RRC message, wherein the RRC message comprises configuration parameters of an enhanced physical downlink control channel (ePDCCH), the configuration parameters indicating;

one or more subframes of a frame in which the ePDCCH is configured; and

a starting symbol corresponding to both the ePDCCH and a downlink data channel in the one or more subframes, wherein the starting symbol indicates a starting position of the ePDCCH in each subframe of the one or more subframes in terms of a number of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols in each subframe; and

transmitting, to the wireless device and via the ePDCCH, second scheduling information for a packet.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the one or more subframes indicated in the configuration parameters consist of less than all subframes in the frame.

3. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

receiving, from the wireless device and based on the second scheduling information, the packet; and

transmitting an acknowledgement for the packet via a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) channel beginning at an OFDM symbol occurring first in a subframe of the frame.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the PDCCH starts at a OFDM symbol occurring first in a first subframe of the frame.

5. The method of claim 4, wherein the first scheduling information comprises a physical downlink control channel control packet transmitted in the first subframe.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the configuration parameters comprise an array of parameters, each element in the array comprising frequency resource parameters for a set of resource blocks in one or more sets of resource blocks in the one or more subframes.

7. The method of claim 5, wherein the one or more sets of resource blocks consist of non-overlapping sets of resource blocks in the one or more subframes.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein transmitting the second scheduling information employs spatial multiplexing in the one or more subframes.

9. The method of claim 1, wherein transmitting the second scheduling information employs beamforming in the one or more subframes.

10. A base station comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the base station to;

transmit, to a wireless device and via a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH), first scheduling information for a radio resource control (RRC) message;

transmit, to the wireless device and based on the first scheduling information, the RRC message, wherein the RRC message comprises configuration parameters of an enhanced physical downlink control channel (ePDCCH), the configuration parameters indicating;

one or more subframes of a frame in which the ePDCCH is configured; and

a starting symbol corresponding to both the ePDCCH and a downlink data channel in the one or more subframes, wherein the starting symbol indicates a starting position of the ePDCCH in each subframe of the one or more subframes in terms of a number of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols in each subframe; and

transmit, to the wireless device and via the ePDCCH, second scheduling information for a packet.

11. The base station of claim 10, wherein the one or more subframes indicated in the configuration parameters consist of less than all subframes in the frame.

12. The base station of claim 10, wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the base station to:

receive, from the wireless device and based on the second scheduling information, the packet; and

transmit an acknowledgement for the packet via a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) channel beginning at an OFDM symbol occurring first in a subframe of the frame.

13. The base station of claim 10, wherein the PDCCH starts at a OFDM symbol occurring first in a first subframe of the frame.

14. The base station of claim 13, wherein the first scheduling information comprises a physical downlink control channel control packet transmitted in the first subframe.

15. The base station of claim 10, wherein the configuration parameters comprise an array of parameters, each element in the array comprising frequency resource parameters for a set of resource blocks in one or more sets of resource blocks in the one or more subframes.

16. The base station of claim 15, wherein the one or more sets of resource blocks consist of non-overlapping sets of resource blocks in the one or more subframes.

17. The base station of claim 10, wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the base station to transmit the second scheduling information employing spatial multiplexing in the one or more subframes.

18. The base station of claim 10, wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the base station to transmit the second scheduling information employing beamforming in the one or more subframes.

19. A method for use in a wireless device, the method comprising:

receiving, by the wireless device and from a base station via a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH), first scheduling information for a radio resource control (RRC) message;

receiving, from the base station and based on the first scheduling information, the RRC message, wherein the RRC message comprises configuration parameters of an enhanced physical downlink control channel (ePDCCH), the configuration parameters indicating;

one or more subframes of a frame in which the ePDCCH is configured; and

a starting symbol corresponding to both the ePDCCH and a downlink data channel in the one or more subframes, wherein the starting symbol indicates a starting position of the ePDCCH in each subframe of the one or more subframes in terms of a number of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols in each subframe;

receiving, from the base station and via the ePDCCH, second scheduling information for a packet; and

transmitting, to the base station and according to the second scheduling information, the packet.

20. The method of claim 19, wherein the one or more subframes indicated in the configuration parameters consist of less than all subframes in the frame.

21. The method of claim 19, further comprising:

receiving an acknowledgement for the packet via a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) channel beginning at an OFDM symbol occurring first in a subframe of the frame.

22. The method of claim 19, wherein the PDCCH starts at a OFDM symbol occurring first in a first subframe of the frame.

23. The method of claim 22, wherein the first scheduling information comprises a physical downlink control channel control packet transmitted in the first subframe.

24. The method of claim 19, wherein the configuration parameters comprise an array of parameters, each element in the array comprising frequency resource parameters for a set of resource blocks in one or more sets of resource blocks in the one or more subframes.

25. The method of claim 24, wherein the one or more sets of resource blocks consist of non-overlapping sets of resource blocks in the one or more subframes.

26. The method of claim 19, wherein transmission of the second scheduling information employs spatial multiplexing in the one or more subframes.

27. The method of claim 19, wherein transmission of the second scheduling information employs beamforming in the one or more subframes.

28. A wireless device comprising:

one or more processors; and

memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the wireless device to;

receive, from a base station and via a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH), first scheduling information for a radio resource control (RRC) message;

receive, from the base station and based on the first scheduling information, the RRC message, wherein the RRC message comprises configuration parameters of an enhanced physical downlink control channel (ePDCCH), the configuration parameters indicating;

one or more subframes of a frame in which the ePDCCH is configured; and

a starting symbol corresponding to both the ePDCCH and a downlink data channel in the one or more subframes, wherein the starting symbol indicates a starting position of the ePDCCH in each subframe of the one or more subframes in terms of a number of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols in each subframe;

receive, from the base station and via the ePDCCH, second scheduling information for a packet; and

transmit, to the base station and based on the second scheduling information, the packet.

29. The wireless device of claim 28, wherein the one or more subframes indicated in the configuration parameters consist of less than all subframes in the frame.

30. The wireless device of claim 28, wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, further cause the wireless device to:

receive an acknowledgement for the packet via a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) channel beginning at an OFDM symbol occurring first in a subframe of the frame.

31. The wireless device of claim 28, wherein the PDCCH starts at a OFDM symbol occurring first in a first subframe of the frame.

32. The wireless device of claim 31, wherein the first scheduling information comprises a physical downlink control channel control packet transmitted in the first subframe.

33. The wireless device of claim 28, wherein the configuration parameters comprise an array of parameters, each element in the array comprising frequency resource parameters for a set of resource blocks in one or more sets of resource blocks in the one or more subframes.

34. The wireless device of claim 33, wherein the one or more sets of resource blocks consist of non-overlapping sets of resource blocks in the one or more subframes.

35. The wireless device of claim 28, wherein transmission of the second scheduling information employs spatial multiplexing in the one or more subframes.

36. The wireless device of claim 28, wherein transmission of the second scheduling information employs beamforming in the one or more subframes.
