Transmitting method, transmitting apparatus, and program
First Claim
1. A transmitting method of transmitting a visible light signal by way of luminance change, the transmitting method comprising:
- determining a luminance change pattern to transmit the visible light signal;
switching a common switch to be ON or OFF according to the luminance change pattern, and according to an image signal that displays an image on a display, the common switch turning ON or OFF a plurality of light sources in common; and
turning ON or OFF a first pixel switch for turning ON or OFF a first light source, to represent a pixel value of a pixel in the image signal corresponding to the first light source while the image is displayed on the display, and to transmit the visible light signal according to the luminance change pattern, the first light source being ON for a period in which the common switch is ON and the first pixel switch is ON, the first light source being one of the plurality of light sources,wherein, in the turning ON or OFF of a first pixel switch, while the image is displayed on the display, when the first light source is OFF for a predetermined period to transmit the visible light signal in a lighting period, a length of the lighting period is extended, to compensate for the predetermined period in which the first light source that transmits the visible light signal is OFF, the lighting period indicating a period in which the first light source is ON based on a value of the image signal.

Abstract
A visible light signal transmitting method includes: determining a luminance change pattern to transmit the visible light signal; switching a common switch according to the luminance change pattern, the common switch being for turning ON a plurality of light sources in common; and turning ON a first pixel switch, to cause the first light source to be ON for a period in which the common switch is ON and the first pixel switch is ON, to transmit the visible light signal, the first light source being one of the plurality of light sources. In the turning ON of a first pixel switch, when the image is displayed on the display, the first pixel switch is switched to increase a lighting period that corresponds to the first light source, to compensate a period in which the first light source is OFF for transmission of the visible light signal.
