1. An information processing apparatus having at least a first power state and a second power state, power being supplied to a device of the information processing apparatus in the first power state, power supply to the device being stopped in the second power state, comprising:
- a sensor which detects a human around the information processing apparatus;
a user interface which receives a user operation to shift the information processing apparatus from the first power state to the second power state or to shift the information processing apparatus from the second power state to the first power state; and
a power controller which shifts the information processing apparatus from the second power state to the first power state based on a detection of a human by the sensor, and shifts the information processing apparatus, from the first power state to the second power state or from the second power state to the first power state, based on the user operation received by the user interface,wherein the power controller disables a shift of a power state of the information processing apparatus based on the user interface during a predetermined period after the detection of the human by the sensor.
