1. A method of wireless communication, comprising:

  • determining, by a wearable device, whether a network operator provides support for bursty communication in a wireless network operated by the network operator and accessible by the wearable device, wherein the support for bursty communication is either integrated into a telephony application server (TAS) or a wearable application server (WAS) that is a separate entity from the TAS and deployed between the TAS and the wearable device; and

    communicating, by the wearable device, directly through the wireless network operated by the network operator using the bursty communication in response to the determining the wireless network supports the bursty communication, wherein the communicating includes receiving packets in the bursty communication, buffering the received packets, and playing the bursty communication in its entirety after all of the packets in the bursty communication have been received.
