1. A method for transmitting data between a first communication device associated with an analyte sensor and one or more second communication devices configured to provide user access to analyte values and/or information derived from analyte values, comprising:

  • establishing a communication channel between a first communication device coupled to a continuous analyte sensor that measures a level of analyte values in a host, and a second communication device of one or more display communication devices configured to provide user access to analyte values or information derived from the measured analyte values during a first time period within a communication window, wherein the first time period is dedicated for communication between the first and the second communication devices, wherein the first communication device processes the measured analyte values; and

    establishing another communication channel between the first communication device and a third communication device of the one or more display communication devices during a second time period within the communication window, different from the first time period, and wherein the second time period is dedicated for communication between the first and the third communication devices;

    wherein the communication window is within an update interval, and the method comprises;

    transmitting analyte sensor data, by a transceiver of the first communication device, to the one or more display communication devices within the communication window, anddeactivating the transceiver until a next update interval.
