1. A wireless power receiver, comprising:

  • a plurality of antenna elements configured to receive power from a controlled constructive interference by convergence of a set of radio frequency (RF) power waves that are transmitted by a wireless power transmitter that is separate from the wireless power receiver;

    a rectifier, operatively coupled to the plurality of antenna elements, and configured to rectify alternating current (AC) voltage received from the plurality of antenna elements into direct current (DC) voltage; and

    a processing apparatus, coupled to the plurality of antenna elements and the rectifier, and configured to;

    monitor a plurality of operational metrics associated with the wireless power receiver;

    detect a trigger that causes the processing apparatus to run at least (i) a first test that analyzes a first operational metric of the plurality of operational metrics and (ii) a second test that analyzes a second operational metric, distinct from the first operational metric, of the plurality of operational metrics, wherein the second test is performed in accordance with a determination that the first operational metric satisfies the first reference metric in the set of reference metrics; and

    based on analyses of the first and second tests,perform a restart action at the wireless power receiver after determining that;

    (i) the first operational metric does not satisfy a first reference metric in a set of reference metrics or (ii) the second operational metric does not satisfy a second reference metric in the set of reference metrics.
