Abstract

When a plurality of terminals share the same resources in a wireless communication system, and when control information such as acknowledgement/negative acknowledgement (ACK/NAK) information or scheduling information is transmitted, a method of efficiently performing code division multiplexing (CDM) is required to distinguish the plurality of terminals. In particular, it is necessary to develop a method by which a code sequence of CDM can be selected and used according to each cell condition. Provided is a method of forming a signal in a wireless communication system in which a plurality of terminals commonly share frequency and time resources. The method includes the operations of receiving condition information in a cell; selecting one of a plurality of time domain orthogonal sequences having different lengths, according to the condition information; and allocating the selected time domain orthogonal sequence to a control signal symbol block.

Claims

1. A method of transmitting uplink control information by a terminal, the method comprising:

generating a first cyclically shifted sequence and a first orthogonal sequence (C0, C1, C2, C3) based on information (ns) from a base station;

generating a first symbol based on the uplink control information;

multiplying the first symbol with the first cyclically shifted sequence and the first orthogonal sequence to generate a first sequence;

transmitting the first sequence to the base station through a first set of uplink radio resources,

wherein;

first two elements (C0, C1) of the first orthogonal sequence are orthogonal to first two elements of a second orthogonal sequence used in another terminal and last two elements (C2, C3) of the first orthogonal sequence are orthogonal to last two elements of the second orthogonal sequence, and

the another terminal transmits another uplink control information using the first set of uplink radio resources, the first cyclically shifted sequence and the second orthogonal sequence.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein:

the first orthogonal sequence is selected from a first set of three orthogonal sequences consisting of W0 (a, a, a, a), W1 (a, b, a, b) and an additional sequence W2 which is orthogonal to W0 and W1, respectively, wherein a is a first value and b is a second value.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein:

the first orthogonal sequence is W0 and the second orthogonal sequence is W2, or the first orthogonal sequence is W2 and the second orthogonal sequence is W0.

4. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

generating a second cyclically shifted sequence and another sequence selected from a second set of orthogonal sequences;

generating a second symbol;

multiplying the second symbol with the second cyclically shifted sequence and the another sequence to generate a reference sequence;

transmitting the reference sequence to the base station through a second set of uplink radio resources,

wherein;

the first set of uplink radio resources comprises a first, second, sixth and seventh symbols in a frame, and

the second set of uplink radio resources comprises third to fifth symbols in the frame.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the uplink control information is acknowledgement/negative-acknowledgement (ACK/NAK) information.

6. A wireless communication method, comprising:

receiving, at a base station, a first sequence through a first set of uplink radio resources;

obtaining, at the base station, first control information using the first sequence, a first cyclically shifted sequence and a first orthogonal sequence; and

obtaining, at the base station, second control information using the first sequence, a second cyclically shifted sequence and a second orthogonal sequence,

wherein if the first cyclically shifted sequence is the same as the second cyclically shifted sequence, first two elements of the first orthogonal sequence are orthogonal to first two elements of the second orthogonal sequence and last two elements of the first orthogonal sequence are orthogonal to last two elements of the second orthogonal sequence.

7. The method of claim 6, wherein:

the first orthogonal sequence is selected from a first set of three orthogonal sequences consisting of W0 (a, a, a, a), W1 (a, b, a, b) and an additional sequence W2 which is orthogonal to W0 and W1, respectively, wherein a is a first value and b is a second value.

8. The method of claim 7, wherein:

the first orthogonal sequence is W0 and the second orthogonal sequence is W2, or the first orthogonal sequence is W2 and the second orthogonal sequence is W0.

9. The method of claim 6, further comprising:

receiving, at the base station, a second sequence through a second set of uplink radio resources;

obtaining, at the base station, a first reference sequence using the second sequence;

obtaining, at the base station, a second reference sequence using the second sequence;

wherein;

the first set of uplink radio resources comprises a first, second, sixth and seventh symbols in a frame, and

the second set of uplink radio resources comprises third to fifth symbols in the frame.

10. The method of claim 6, wherein the uplink control information is acknowledgement/negative-acknowledgement (ACK/NAK) information.

11. A terminal for transmitting uplink control information, the terminal comprising:

a memory;

and a processor operably coupled to the memory,

wherein the processor, when executing the program instructions stored in the memory, is configured to;

cause the terminal to generate a first cyclically shifted sequence and a first orthogonal sequence (C0, C1, C2, C3) based on information from a base station;

cause the terminal to generate a first symbol based on the uplink control information;

cause the terminal to multiply the first symbol with the first cyclically shifted sequence and the first orthogonal sequence to generate a first sequence;

cause the terminal to transmit the first sequence to the base station through a first set of uplink radio resources,

wherein;

first two elements (C0, C1) of the first orthogonal sequence are orthogonal to first two elements of a second orthogonal sequence used in another terminal and last two elements (C2, C3) of the first orthogonal sequence are orthogonal to last two elements of the second orthogonal sequence, and

the another terminal transmits another uplink control information using the first set of uplink radio resources, the first cyclically shifted sequence and the second orthogonal sequence.

12. The terminal of claim 11, wherein:

the first orthogonal sequence is selected from a first set of three orthogonal sequences consisting of W0 (a, a, a, a), W1 (a, b, a, b) and an additional sequence W2 which is orthogonal to W0 and W1, respectively, wherein a is a first value and b is a second value.

13. The terminal of claim 12, wherein:

the first orthogonal sequence is W0 and the second orthogonal sequence is W2, or the first orthogonal sequence is W2 and the second orthogonal sequence is W0.

14. The terminal of claim 11, wherein the processor, when executing program instructions stored in the memory, is further configured to:

cause the terminal to generate a second cyclically shifted sequence and another sequence selected from a second set of orthogonal sequences;

cause the terminal to generate a second symbol;

cause the terminal to multiply the second symbol with the second cyclically shifted sequence and the another sequence to generate a reference sequence;

cause the terminal to transmit the reference sequence to the base station through a second set of uplink radio resources,

wherein;

the first set of uplink radio resources comprises a first, second, sixth and seventh symbols in a frame, and

the second set of uplink radio resources comprises third to fifth symbols in the frame.

15. The terminal of claim 11, wherein the uplink control information is acknowledgement/negative-acknowledgement (ACK/NAK) information.

16. An apparatus in a terminal, the apparatus comprising:

a memory;

and a processor operably coupled to the memory,

wherein the processor, when executing the program instructions stored in the memory, is configured to;

cause the terminal to generate a first cyclically shifted sequence and a first orthogonal sequence (C0, C1, C2, C3) based on information from a base station;

cause the terminal to generate a first symbol based on uplink control information;

cause the terminal to multiply the first symbol with the first cyclically shifted sequence and the first orthogonal sequence to generate a first sequence;

cause the terminal to transmit the first sequence to the base station through a first set of uplink radio resources,

wherein;

first two elements (C0, C1) of the first orthogonal sequence are orthogonal to first two elements of a second orthogonal sequence used in another terminal and last two elements (C2, C3) of the first orthogonal sequence are orthogonal to last two elements of the second orthogonal sequence, and

the another terminal transmits another uplink control information using the first set of uplink radio resources, the first cyclically shifted sequence and the second orthogonal sequence.

17. The apparatus of claim 16, wherein:

the first orthogonal sequence is selected from a first set of three orthogonal sequences consisting of W0 (a, a, a, a), W1 (a, b, a, b) and an additional sequence W2 which is orthogonal to W0 and W1, respectively, wherein a is a first value and b is a second value.

18. The apparatus of claim 17, wherein:

the first orthogonal sequence is W0 and the second orthogonal sequence is W2, or the first orthogonal sequence is W2 and the second orthogonal sequence is W0.

19. The apparatus of claim 16, wherein the processor, when executing program instructions stored in the memory, is further configured to:

cause the terminal to generate a second cyclically shifted sequence and another sequence selected from a second set of orthogonal sequences;

cause the terminal to generate a second symbol;

cause the terminal to multiply the second symbol with the second cyclically shifted sequence and the another sequence to generate a reference sequence;

cause the terminal to transmit the reference sequence to the base station through a second set of uplink radio resources,

wherein;

the first set of uplink radio resources comprises a first, second, sixth and seventh symbols in a frame, and

the second set of uplink radio resources comprises third to fifth symbols in the frame.

20. The apparatus of claim 16, wherein the uplink control information is acknowledgement/negative-acknowledgement (ACK/NAK) information.

21. A wireless communication apparatus, comprising:

a memory; and

a processor operably coupled to the memory,

wherein the processor, when executing program instructions stored in the memory, is configured to;

cause the apparatus to receive a first sequence through a first set of uplink radio resources;

cause the apparatus to obtain first control information using the first sequence, a first cyclically shifted sequence and a first orthogonal sequence; and

cause the apparatus to obtain second control information using the first sequence, a second cyclically shifted sequence and a second orthogonal sequence,

wherein if the first cyclically shifted sequence is the same as the second cyclically shifted sequence, first two elements of the first orthogonal sequence are orthogonal to first two elements of the second orthogonal sequence and last two elements of the first orthogonal sequence are orthogonal to last two elements of the second orthogonal sequence.

22. The apparatus of claim 21, wherein:

the first orthogonal sequence is selected from a first set of three orthogonal sequences consisting of W0 (a, a, a, a), W1 (a, b, a, b) and an additional sequence W2 which is orthogonal to W0 and W1, respectively, wherein a is a first value and b is a second value.

23. The apparatus of claim 22, wherein:

the first orthogonal sequence is W0 and the second orthogonal sequence is W2, or the first orthogonal sequence is W2 and the second orthogonal sequence is W0.

24. The apparatus of claim 21, wherein the processor, when executing program instructions stored in the memory, is further configured to:

cause the apparatus to receive a second sequence through a second set of uplink radio resources;

cause the apparatus to obtain a first reference sequence using the second sequence;

cause the apparatus to obtain a second reference sequence using the second sequence;

wherein;

the first set of uplink radio resources comprises a first, second, sixth and seventh symbols in a frame, and

the second set of uplink radio resources comprises third to fifth symbols in the frame.

25. The apparatus of claim 21, wherein the uplink control information is acknowledgement/negative-acknowledgement (ACK/NAK) information.
