1. A mobile device, comprising:

  • a built-in wireless communications component; and

    a receiver detachably coupled to the mobile device and configured to control the built-in wireless communications component of the mobile device, the receiver comprising;

    a first radio frequency (RF) antenna element configured to interface with a constructive interference formed by a plurality of wireless RF power transmission waves emitted from a far-field transmitter, wherein the first RF antenna element is configured to transform energy from the constructive interference into an alternating current (AC) voltage;

    a rectifier coupled to the first RF antenna element, wherein the rectifier is configured to convert the AC voltage into a DC voltage; and

    a power converter coupled to the rectifier, wherein the power converter is configured to change the DC voltage into a constant DC voltage to provide electrical energy to the mobile device;

    wherein;

    the receiver controls via a processor of the mobile device the built-in wireless communications component of the mobile device to transmit to the far-field transmitter one or more communication signals containing status data indicating a power transmission effectiveness of at least some of the plurality of wireless RF power transmission waves, and the receiver does not include a wireless transmitter, andthe built-in wireless communications component is integrated with the mobile device and is further utilized by the mobile device to communicate data packets with a plurality of electronic devices other than the far-field transmitter.
