1. A method for data processing using one or more processors, comprising:
- obtaining a first filtered analyte level data for a monitored analyte level measured by an analyte sensor configured to be in contact with bodily fluid under a skin surface over a first period of time;
obtaining a second filtered analyte level data for the monitored analyte level over a second period of time different from the first period;
determining a rate of change based on the first period;
weighting the first filtered analyte level data and the second filtered analyte level data according to the determined rate of change;
processing the weighted first filtered analyte level data and the weighted second filtered analyte level data to determine the monitored analyte level;
determining that the monitored analyte level is greater than a predetermined threshold; and
providing an alarm to a user based on the monitored analyte level.
