1. A method for controlling a video recorder, which is configured to be worn on a person, of a primary subsystem, the primary subsystem includes a memory and a processor that detects operation of a first user-operated control and of a second user-operated control, which is physically apart from the video recorder, and the processor performs the method to accomplish pre-recording and event recording by the video recorder at a location of an event, the method comprising:

  • if pre-recording;

    in response to detecting operation of the first user-operated control;

    discontinuing receiving pre-recording video information to the memory;

    saving the pre-recording video information stored in the memory; and

    beginning event recording by saving event video information to the memory; and

    in response to detecting operation of the second user-operated control, discontinuing capturing of the pre-recording video information;

    if event recording;

    in response to detecting operation of the first user-operated control;

    discontinuing receiving the event video information to the memory; and

    beginning receiving the pre-recording video information to the memory;

    in response to detecting operation of the second user-operated control, discontinuing saving the event video information to the memory; and

    if event recording is discontinued;

    in response to detecting operation of the second user-operated control, continuing pre-recording by receiving the pre-recording video information to the memory; and

    in response to detecting operation of the first user-operated control, beginning event recording by saving the event video information to the memory.
