1. A wearable medical device comprising:

  • a memory;

    one or more sensing electrodes configured to be disposed about the torso of a patient and configured to sense an electrocardiogram signal (ECG) of the patient;

    one or more processors operatively coupled with the memory and the one or more sensing electrodes, the one or more processors configured to analyze the sensed ECG signals of the patient and detect one or more predetermined cardiac arrhythmias based at least in part on the sensed ECG signals and to determine that an emergency situation exists based on the detected one or more predetermined cardiac arrhythmias;

    a location manager component comprised by the wearable medical device and configured to be executed by the one or more processors and configured to;

    receive location information from one or more location information sources based on at least one of a global positioning system, a wireless location area network access point, a separate medical device different from the wearable medical device, a BlueTooth enabled device, and a radio-frequency identification device;

    estimate, responsive to receipt of the location information from the one or more location information sources, a location of the wearable medical device; and

    a network interface configured to;

    receive the estimated location from the location manager component,communicate data indicative of the ECG signal of the patient to a remote system upon the determination that the emergency situation exists,determine whether additional location information sources are available, andcommunicate the estimated location of the wearable medical device to the remote system upon the determination that the emergency situation exists, based on the determination of whether additional location information sources are available.
