Abstract

A developer supply container includes a developer accommodating body configured to contain developer, with the developer accommodating body being rotatable about a rotational axis. A developer discharging body is provided in fluid communication with the developer accommodating body, with the developer discharging body having a discharge opening provided in a bottom portion of the developer discharging body and configured to discharge the developer from the developer discharging body, and with the developer accommodating body being rotatable relative to the developer discharging body. A track is provided on each of opposite sides of the developer discharging body.

Claims

1. A developer supply container comprising:

a developer accommodating body configured to contain developer, the developer accommodating body being rotatable about a rotational axis;

a developer discharging body in fluid communication with the developer accommodating body, the developer discharging body having a discharge opening provided in a bottom portion of the developer discharging body, with the discharge opening being configured to discharge the developer from the developer discharging body, and with the developer accommodating body being rotatable relative to the developer discharging body; and

a track provided at each of opposite sides of the developer discharging body, each track being provided below a plane that includes the rotational axis and divides the developer supply container into a lower section that includes the discharge opening and an upper section, each track extending from a first position to a second position, with the second position being closer to the plane than the first position and such that a plane perpendicular to the rotational axis and passing through the track passes through the discharge opening, and each track projecting from a surface, with a portion of the surface extending from the first position in a direction of the rotational axis and away from the second position.

2. The developer supply container according to claim 1, wherein the developer accommodating body is provided with a gear portion provided about the rotational axis.

3. The developer supply container according to claim 1, wherein each track extends along a straight line.

4. The developer supply container according to claim 1, wherein each track extends along an arcuate line.

5. The developer supply container according to claim 1, wherein each track extends stepwise.

6. The developer supply container according to claim 1, further comprising a shutter movable relative to the developer discharging body between an open position wherein the discharge opening is open and a closed position wherein the discharge opening is closed by the shutter.

7. The developer supply container according to claim 6, wherein the developer discharging body is provided with a shutter support movably supporting the shutter, and

wherein each track is integrally molded with the shutter support.

8. The developer supply container according to claim 6, wherein the shutter is provided with a shutter opening that is aligned with the discharge opening when the shutter is in the open position.

9. The developer supply container according to claim 1, further comprising a pump configured and positioned to force developer out of the developer discharging body through the discharge opening.

10. The developer supply container according to claim 1, wherein the discharge opening has an area of 0.002 mm² to 12.6 mm².

11. A developer supply container comprising:

a developer accommodating body, the developer accommodating body being rotatable about a rotational axis;

developer contained in the developer accommodating body;

a developer discharging body in fluid communication with the developer accommodating body, the developer discharging body having a discharge opening provided in a bottom portion of the developer discharging body, with the discharge opening being configured to discharge the developer from the developer discharging body, and with the developer accommodating body being rotatable relative to the developer discharging body; and

a track provided at each of opposite sides of the developer discharging body, each track being provided below a plane that includes the rotational axis and divides the developer supply container into a lower section that includes the discharge opening and an upper section, each track extending from a first position to a second position, with the second position being closer to the plane than the first position and such that a plane perpendicular to the rotational axis and passing through the track passes through the discharge opening, and each track projecting from a surface, with a portion of the surface extending from the first position in a direction of the rotational axis and away from the second position.

12. The developer supply container according to claim 11, wherein the developer accommodating body is provided with a gear portion provided about the rotational axis.

13. The developer supply container according to claim 11, wherein each track extends along a straight line.

14. The developer supply container according to claim 11, wherein each track extends along an arcuate line.

15. The developer supply container according to claim 11, wherein each track extends stepwise.

16. The developer supply container according to claim 11, further comprising a shutter movable relative to the developer discharging body between an open position wherein the discharge opening is open and a closed position wherein the discharge opening is closed by the shutter.

17. The developer supply container according to claim 16, wherein the developer discharging body is provided with a shutter support movably supporting the shutter, and

wherein each track is integrally molded with the shutter support.

18. The developer supply container according to claim 16, wherein the shutter is provided with a shutter opening that is aligned with the discharge opening when the shutter is in the open position.

19. The developer supply container according to claim 11, further comprising a pump configured and positioned to force developer out of the developer discharging body through the discharge opening.

20. The developer supply container according to claim 11, wherein the discharge opening has an area of 0.002 mm² to 12.6 mm².

21. The developer supply container according to claim 11, wherein the developer has a fluidity energy of not less than 4.3×
