1. An embolectomy device, comprising:

  • a clot engaging structure comprising a plurality of interconnected struts forming an open cell structure extending around a longitudinal axis of the device and having an inner lumen, wherein the clot engaging structure is biased to expand, or is otherwise expandable from, a radially constrained configuration to a radially expanded configuration when released from a delivery catheter into a blood vessel; and

    a support structure positioned within the inner lumen of the clot engaging structure, the support structure comprising a plurality of connectors connected to respective struts of the clot engaging structure, the plurality of connectors spaced apart longitudinally along the longitudinal axis of the device,wherein the connectors are biased to self-expand from a radially constrained configuration to a radially expanded configuration to thereby cause or otherwise assist and/or facilitate expansion of the clot engaging structure and/or establishing and maintaining an open cell structure thereof when the clot engaging structure is released from a delivery catheter into a blood vessel, andwherein each connector of the plurality of connectors has a first end connected to a respective first strut of the clot engaging structure and a second end connected to a respective second strut of the clot engaging structure without being connected to a central support member.
