1. A motorized, height-adjustable desktop, comprising:

  • a base made from a rigid material or from rigid materials, configured to be placed on, or affixed to, a flat surface, or to be attached to a fixed object;

    a column made from a rigid material or from rigid materials, the column having a first end attached to the base, and the column being configured to stand from the base vertically relative to the ground or floor;

    a moveable bracket made from rigid material or materials, and having a location for attachment of a peripheral tray, and a location for attachment of a computer monitor, the moveable bracket being configured to move up and down the column under power of an electric motor;

    the electric motor attached to the column, to the moveable bracket, or to the base, or any combination thereof, the electric motor configured to move the moveable bracket up the column when the electric motor is operated in one direction, and down the column when the electric motor is operated in the other direction;

    a peripheral tray having a flat upper surface, the peripheral tray being attached to the moveable bracket such that the flat upper surface of the peripheral tray is horizontal relative to the ground or floor;

    wherein, the height of the peripheral tray and any computer monitors attached to the moveable bracket may be adjusted by operation of the electric motor;

    a network connected controller computer comprising a memory, at least one processor, and a plurality of programming instructions stored in the memory, the programming instructions when executed by the processor cause the processor to;

    receive data from the at least one sensor, of a plurality of sensors, the data associated to a user of the motorized, height-adjustable desktop;

    store, in a database, one or more sit and stand periods for the user;

    calculate a physical condition profile, associated to the user, based on a pre-configured set of rules, from the database, to determine one or more sit and stand periods for the user;

    create a sit and stand schedule, associated to the user, based on the physical condition profile wherein the physical condition profile is based, at least in part, from a network-connected health application.
