1. An electrochemical device electrode, comprising:

  • a current collector which is an aluminum foil;

    an aluminum oxide layer which is formed on and in contact with a principle surface of the current collector and contains aluminum hydroxide and aluminum oxide, wherein, according to an infrared absorption spectrum of the aluminum oxide layer with a wave number of 1300 cm

    or less, an absorption peak near 950 cm

    due to the aluminum oxide is at least twice as high as, but no higher than six times, an absorption peak near 1040 cm

    due to the aluminum hydroxide;

    a conductive layer which is formed on and in contact with the aluminum oxide layer and contains conductive material; and

    an active material layer which is formed on and in contact with the conductive layer.
