1. A method of determining a network path for communication for a customer premise equipment (CPE), the method comprising:

  • receiving, at the CPE, network information for each of a plurality of network paths between the CPE and the Internet, the network information comprising respective bandwidth occupancy information, and respective quality of service information;

    receiving, with the CPE, one or more user preferences indicating a minimum bandwidth for a selected network path;

    selecting, with the CPE the selected network path from the plurality of network paths based, at least in part, on bandwidth occupancy of the selected network path and a determination that the selected network path provides at least the minimum bandwidth;

    switching, via the CPE, communications from a first network path of the plurality of network paths to the selected network path responsive to a determination that the selected network path provides at least one of a higher quality of service or lower bandwidth occupancy than the first network path; and

    communicating, by the CPE, over the selected network path.
