1. A system for controlling variable artificial lighting in an environment, the system comprising:

  • a first lighting fixture including at least a first sensor to obtain first sensor data;

    a second lighting fixture including at least a second sensor to obtain second sensor data;

    a wireless network to couple the first lighting fixture and the second lighting fixture and thereby transmit the first sensor data and the second sensor data; and

    at least one management module, operably coupled to the wireless network, to;

    receive the first sensor data and the second sensor data via the wireless network;

    analyze past patterns of the first sensor data and the second sensor data; and

    transmit at least one instruction, via the wireless network, to at least one of the first lighting fixture and the second lighting fixture to regulate the at least one of the first lighting fixture and the second lighting fixture based at least in part on the analyzed past patterns of the first sensor data and the second sensor data,wherein;

    each of the first sensor and the second sensor includes an occupancy sensor;

    the first sensor data and the second sensor data relate to an occupancy of the environment;

    the past patterns of the first sensor data and the second sensor data are past patterns of the occupancy of the environment; and

    the at least one management module transmits the at least one instruction, via the wireless network, to the at least one of the first lighting fixture and the second lighting fixture to control the artificial lighting in the environment based on the past patterns of the occupancy of the environment, and wherein;

    the first lighting fixture further includes at least one first light source and a first power management module (PMM) to regulate power to the at least one first light source, the first PMM including first memory to store at least one first fixture rule to manage behavior of the first lighting fixture;

    the second lighting fixture further includes at least one second light source and a second power management module (PMM) to regulate power to the at least one second light source, the second PMM including second memory to store at least one second fixture rule to manage behavior of the second lighting fixture; and

    the at least one management module transmits the at least one instruction, via the wireless network, to the at least one of the first lighting fixture and the second lighting fixture, to modify at least one of the at least one first fixture rule and the at least one second fixture rule based on the analyzed past patterns of the first sensor data and the second sensor data.
