1. A display comprising:

  • (a) a plurality of light emitting rigid chixels affixed to a first substrate, said plurality of light emitting rigid chixels collectively providing a visible display, said display having both vertical and horizontal directions defined in the plane of said visible display;

    (b) each of said plurality of light emitting rigid chixels comprising;

    i. one or more light emitting pixels coupled to a second substrate, said second substrate being rigid and having a contiguous non-functional edge at the perimeter of the light emitting rigid chixel and an adjacent region devoid of any conductor;

    ii. each of said one or more light emitting pixels comprising a plurality of light emitting sub-pixels coupled to said second substrate to provide a spaced array of sub-pixels providing a plurality of sub-pixel gaps between adjacent light emitting sub-pixels in a vertical direction;

    iii. said plurality of light emitting sub-pixels comprising each of said light emitting pixel further characterized in that more than one color of light may be produced by said light emitting pixel;

    iv. said plurality of light emitting sub-pixels disposed in a linear arrangement with respect to each other when viewed on said visible display, the direction of said linear arrangement being parallel to said vertical direction;

    v. wherein one of said plurality of light emitting sub-pixels is a top sub-pixel disposed at a terminus of said linear arrangement, and wherein one of said plurality of light emitting sub-pixels is a bottom sub-pixel disposed at another terminus of said linear arrangement;

    (c) said plurality of light emitting rigid chixels arranged upon said substrate to provide a spaced array of chixels, said spaced array of chixels providing a plurality of substantially equal first pixel gaps disposed across said non-functional edges between the top sub-pixel of each adjacent light emitting chixel in both said horizontal and said vertical directions;

    (d) said spaced array of chixels further providing a plurality of substantially equal second pixel gaps disposed across said non-functional edges between the bottom sub-pixel of each adjacent light emitting pixel in both said horizontal and said vertical directions;

    (e) further characterized in that each of said plurality of first pixel gaps is substantially equal to each of said plurality of said second pixel gaps across said display.
