1. A wearable therapeutic device comprising:

  • an external defibrillator configured to monitor electrical heart activity of a patient;

    a first therapy electrode and a second therapy electrode, each configured to be electrically coupled to the external defibrillator; and

    a garment configured to house the first therapy electrode and the second therapy electrode,wherein the garment is further configured to releasably receive a plurality of replaceable receptacles configured to store a conductive gel in locations proximate to the first therapy electrode and the second therapy electrode; and

    a plurality of receptacle control units each associated with and separate from each of the plurality of replaceable receptacles, each of the plurality of receptacle control units comprisinga gas cartridge, andat least one circuit operatively coupled to the gas cartridge and configured to control a release of the stored conductive gel of the associated one of the plurality of replaceable receptacles by igniting the gas cartridge to cause the release of the conductive gel upon information being communicated from the external defibrillator to each of the plurality of receptacle control units,each of the plurality of receptacle control units being coupled to an associated one of the plurality of replaceable receptacles via a connector and configured to activate deployment of the stored conductive gel from the connected one of the plurality of replaceable receptacles.
