1. A method for monitoring a glucose concentration of a host using a glucose monitoring system, comprising:
- receiving sensor data automatically and continuously generated using a continuous glucose sensor worn by a host, the sensor data indicative of the host'"'"'s glucose concentration at a remotely-located computing device of the glucose monitoring system, wherein the sensor data is automatically and wirelessly transmitted;
determining a continuous duration for which the continuous glucose sensor was worn based on the sensor data;
tabulating a score based at least in part on the determined continuous duration;
displaying, on a user interface of the glucose monitoring system, an animated character or scene having one or more display characteristics; and
modifying one or more display characteristics of the animated character or scene based on the score to modify the display of the animated character or scene based at least in part on the score.

Abstract
Methods and systems for encouraging interactions with a glucose monitoring system include incrementing a score and/or providing a reward based on a variety of different interactions with the glucose monitoring system. The interactions which improve the score may include initiating or changing displays, downloading data, setting operational parameters and other interactions that are independent of a user'"'"'s glucose measurements. Encouraging these interactions can enhance success in maintaining healthy glucose concentrations.

10. A system for monitoring a glucose concentration of a host, the system comprising:
-
one or more processors; and non-transitory computer-readable instructions, which when executed by the one or more processors, cause the system to; receive sensor data automatically generated using a continuous glucose sensor while the continuous glucose sensor is worn by the host, wherein the sensor data is automatically wirelessly transmitted, on a continuous basis to a remotely-located computing device, determine if the continuously transmitted sensor data is received by the remotely-located computing device for a predetermined duration, such that a positive determination indicates continuous wearing of the continuous glucose sensor by the host during the predetermined duration; tabulate a score based at least in part on the determination; display, on a user interface, an animated character or scene having one or more display characteristics; and modify the one or more display characteristics of the animated character or scene based on the score to modify display of the animated character or scene based at least in part on the score. - View Dependent Claims (11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18)
