1. A theft detection system for detecting unauthorized removal of a battery, comprising:
- a battery monitor circuit attached to or embedded in the battery;
a remote device, wherein the remote device stores instructions that when executed on the remote device cause the remote device to perform operations comprising;
receiving, at the remote device, a wireless signal from the battery monitor circuit comprising voltage and temperature data;
evaluating, by the remote device, whether the battery is in its expected location by confirming for each battery, which is expected to be present, whether there has been an unexpected interruption in the wireless signal from the battery; and
providing a theft alert notification when there has been an unexpected interruption in the wireless signal, wherein a back-end system is configured to trigger the theft alert notification, indicating that the battery is in a process of being stolen, based on a pattern of communication interruptions.

13. A method for comparing battery operating data obtained from a battery to detect a theft event, the method comprising:

sensing a voltage for the battery using a battery monitor circuit physically internal to, or externally wired to, one or more of a plurality of monoblocs comprising the battery; wirelessly transmitting data, comprising the sensed voltage, for the battery from the battery monitoring circuit to a remote device, wherein a monobloc data received from one or more of the plurality of monoblocs within each battery collectively comprises battery operating data; and evaluating the battery operating data from the battery to determine the theft event, wherein the battery operating data is compared to a battery operating history, wherein the battery operating history is analyzed to reveal how the battery has operated during a time period and whether a potential theft event has occurred.

14. A method for comparing battery operating data obtained from a battery to detect a theft event, the method comprising:

sensing a voltage for the battery using a battery monitor circuit physically internal to, or externally wired to, one or more of a plurality of monoblocs comprising the battery; wirelessly transmitting data, comprising the sensed voltage, for the battery from the battery monitoring circuit to a remote device, wherein a monobloc data received from one or more of the plurality of monoblocs within each battery collectively comprises battery operating data; and evaluating the battery operating data from the battery to determine the theft event, wherein evaluating the battery operating data comprises comparing the battery operating data to a trigger value that reveals whether a potential theft event has occurred, and wherein the trigger value comprises one of; a predetermined high voltage, and the comparison indicates whether there has been a change in voltage of the battery that exceeds the predetermined high voltage; a predetermined low voltage, and the comparison indicates whether there has been a change in voltage of the battery that decreases below the predetermined low voltage;
