Methods and systems for managing a patient move
First Claim
1. A method for managing a move of a patient connected to a medical ventilator system, the method comprising:
- detecting, based on an output of a first sensor, that the patient is at least a predetermined distance from the medical ventilator system, wherein the first sensor is adapted to monitor one of the patient, a pressure generating system, or a ventilator breathing circuit;
in response to detecting that the patient is at least the predetermined distance from the medical ventilator system, issuing a notification requesting a confirmation or a denial of an intended patient move;
receiving, via an operator interface of the medical ventilator system, the confirmation of the intended patient move, wherein the intended patient move is from a first location to a second location, and wherein the first location and the second location are not the same;
determining a disconnection status of each hose of a plurality of hoses based on an output of a plurality of second sensors; and
issuing a movement notification based on the disconnection status of each of hose of the plurality of hoses, wherein the movement notification includes an indication of the disconnection status of each hose of the plurality of hoses.

Abstract
This disclosure describes systems and methods for managing a move of a patient being monitored or treated by a medical system, such as a medical ventilator. The disclosure describes a novel approach for preventing a patient from being moved from a first location to second different location that is connected to a monitoring and/or treatment system, before all of the necessary hoses have been disconnected from the patient. Further, the disclosure describes a novel approach of ensuring that all of the necessary hoses are reconnected to a patient being monitored or treated by a monitoring and/or treatment system after being moved from the first location to the second different location.

15. A non-transitory computer-readable medium having computer-executable instructions for performing a method for managing movement of a patient connected to a medical system, the computer-executable instructions when executed by a processor causing the medical system to:
-
repeatedly monitor, based on an output of a first sensor, that the patient is at least a predetermined distance from the medical system, wherein the first sensor is adapted to monitor one of the patient, a pressure generating system, or a ventilator breathing circuit; in response to detecting that the patient is at least the predetermined distance from the medical system, display a notice requesting a confirmation or a denial of an intended patient move on an operator interface; receive, via the operator interface, the confirmation of the intended patient move, wherein the intended patient move is from a first location to a second location, and wherein the first location and the second location are not the same; determine, based on an output of a plurality of second sensors, a disconnection status for each hose of a plurality of hoses connecting the patient to the medical system; issue a movement notification based on the disconnection status of each of hose of the plurality of hoses, wherein the movement notification includes an indication of whether the patient is ready to be moved based on the disconnection statuses of the plurality of hoses.
