1. A method for diabetes management, the method comprising:
- controlling insulin delivery to a host, using a processor comprising a controller module, the processor processing data collected from a continuous glucose sensor using in part a Kalman filter;
iteratively evaluating internally derived data relative to a predetermined glucose boundary, wherein the internally derived data comprises processed glucose data and a learned insulin sensitivity of the host;
adaptively adjusting the glucose boundary; and
selectively turning the controller on or off, or controlling a rate of insulin delivery, responsive to the iterative evaluation, wherein the selectively turning the controller on or off, or the controlling the rate of insulin delivery, comprises selectively turning insulin delivery on or off or controlling the rate of insulin delivery when the processed glucose sensor data meets one or more predetermined criteria relative to the predetermined glucose boundary.

16. A diabetes management system, the system comprising:
a processor comprising a controller module configured to control insulin delivery to a host based on an iterative evaluation of internally derived data relative to a predetermined glucose boundary, the processor processing data collected from a continuous glucose sensor using in part a Kalman filter, wherein the internally derived data comprises processed glucose data and a learned insulin sensitivity of the host, and wherein the controller module is further configured to adaptively adjust the glucose boundary and, responsive to the iterative evaluation, selectively turn insulin delivery on or off, or control the rate of insulin delivery, when the processed glucose sensor data meets one or more predetermined criteria relative to the predetermined glucose boundary. - View Dependent Claims (17, 18, 19)
