1. A battery assembly comprising:

  • a first housing shell having a bottom wall and a perimeter wall extending from the bottom wall, the perimeter wall comprising a first surface that engages the bottom wall and an opposite second surface, inner surfaces of the walls defining a cavity;

    a second housing shell disposed in the cavity;

    an insulator interposed between the housing shells to effect electrical insulation between the housing shells, the insulator comprising a flange having a bottom surface that covers the second surface and an opposite top surface, the second housing shell being spaced apart from the top surface;

    an anode electrode disposed in cavity that is electrically communicated to one of the housing shells;

    a cathode electrode disposed in cavity that is electrically communicated to another one of the housing shells;

    a separator interposed between the cathode electrode and the anode electrode, the separator including an electrolyte; and

    an electronic assembly directly engaging the top surface,wherein the first housing shell has a first contact projecting from the perimeter wall and the second housing shell comprises a perimeter wall and a second contact projecting from the perimeter wall of the second housing shell, the contacts each engaging a bonding pad of the electronic assembly.
