1. A method, comprising:
- receiving image light;
reflecting a first portion of the image light via an angled reflective surface toward an eye of a user of a wearable head device;
transmitting a second portion of the image light via the angled reflective surface such that the second portion of the image light is absorbed within the wearable head device,wherein the second portion of the image light is absorbed by an absorptive polarizer.

2. A wearable head device comprising:
-
an image source configured to produce image light; a see-through display; a combiner, wherein the wearable head device is configured to direct the image light towards the combiner, and wherein the wearable head device is further configured to permit a user to view the image light and a surrounding environment simultaneously via the see-through display; and a stray light suppression system configured to suppress, within the wearable head device, a stray portion of the image light that is transmitted through the combiner, wherein the stray light suppression system comprises a wavelength specific material and is configured to absorb a first wavelength of the image light and to allow a visible light bandwidth of the image light to pass.
